Through mindful exploration, we will identify and address unconscious biases and discrimination that may hinder progress toward these ideals.     DEIB EMPOWERMENT

    Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) are organizational frameworks that seek to promote the fair treatment and full participation of all people, particularly groups who have historically been underrepresented.

    This DEIB Empowerment 3-Series Workshop will consist of three 60-minute interactive sessions, each addressing a specific aspect of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. You may take one, two, or all three.

    Meet Your Instructor

    Dr. Robyn L. Gobin is a licensed clinical psychologist, tenured professor, and CMSC Certified Mindful Self-Compassion teacher dedicated to supporting individuals and marginalized communities in holistic self-care. With over a decade of experience in trauma research and therapy, Dr. Gobin is a nationally recognized expert on self-care, interpersonal trauma, and Black women's mental health. She has published extensively in high-impact journals and received funding from national agencies like PCORI. Dr. Gobin makes psychological science accessible to diverse communities through public-facing books, workshops, and media contributions. She holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Oregon, is a Qualified MBSR Teacher, and integrates mindful self-compassion into her teaching and therapy practice. Dr. Gobin's work has been featured in Essence Magazine and Woman’s World Magazine, and she has received numerous awards for her contributions to the mental health field.

    • Who Should Attend

      These workshops are open to the public, anyone that would like to know more about DEIB or is a part of the DEIB community. Additionally, anyone who would like to understand the difference between equity and equality and how MSC is integrated.

      Prerequisites Needed: None, all are welcome to attend.

    • Access to Materials and Session Recordings

      Twelve hours prior to the start of the workshop you will receive access to the content, additional materials and the the zoom link for the live session. You will have access for 90 days if you want to review it at your convenience.

      Please note that we will record each live session, and the recordings will be available within a few days in the respective lesson of the course.

    Important Info: Mindful Self-Compassion is not a substitute for Therapy

    Our programs are designed to teach participants the tools needed to develop and cultivate a mindfulness and self-compassion practice.

    It is not a substitute for mental health care, personal therapy or medical treatment.


    Personal safety and emotional wellbeing are the foundation of self-compassion training and you are primarily responsible for your own safety.

    Teachers and facilitators are not expected or able to provide medical and/or psychological care. Course experiences may bring up challenging memories or feelings.

    If you have a history with a serious mental health condition or other concerns you think may impact your ability to take this course, please contact CMSC or your healthcare professional to determine if this course is right for you. Your personal contact information may be used in the event the teacher or facilitator reasonably determines a need to call emergency services on your behalf.
